Oct 24, 2006 (newstodate): Riga-based Latvian forwarding company Spedair has now officially opened its new cargo terminal at Riga Airport.
-The Spedair offices have been moved to the new premises already, while it will take a few more weeks before the surrounding infrastructure is completed by the airport, says Inga Brasla, Spedair sales director.
-By then the Spedair warehouse will also be moved to the new premises.
The planned capacity of the warehouse situated next to Baltic Cargo Centre handling SAS Cargo, airBaltic Cargo, and Lufthansa Cargo is 700 pallets. It is equipped with special storages including freezers, fridges, dangerous goods room, room for weapons and ammunition, and strong room.
A new X-ray equipment is also being installed in the new facility.
