Oct 6, 2006 (newstodate): After Russia's closure of all communication, including air travel, with Georgia, the country has been seeking ways to manage part of the demand for transport.
With Armenia as a transit point, Georgia's Ministry of Economic Development together with the Aviation Department has now presented a new temporary venue for air transportation between Georgia and Russia.
The solution, however, incurs penalties both in fuel consumption and flying times.
