Oct 3, 2006 (newstodate): SITA has landed its first contract with a ground handling company to implement its BagManager baggage reconciliation system.
The contract has been signed with the Finnish handling company NorthPort, a subsidiary of Finnair, and the system will be implemented at Helsinki Airport by the end of January 2007, followed by 14 Finnish domestic airports.
In the next phase, NorthPort will roll out the system to Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Oslo Gardermoen Airport, and Copenhagen Airport, with future plans to introduce BagManager into the Baltic states as well.
