Oct 10, 2006 (newstodate): September proved no exception to Finnair Cargo's sustained hike in cargo volumes.
In September the carrier lifted a total of 8,738 tonnes of cargo, up 10.5 percent, y-o-y.
And as earlier, the steep increase remained fuelled by growth in the Asian traffic that amounted to 4,663 tonnes, up 29.4 tonnes.
Albeit smaller in volume, 783 tonnes, traffic over the North Atlantic still increased by 49 percent, while European cargo, 1,936 tonnes, fell by 15.7 percent.
In the period January-September, Finnair Cargo aggregated a total of 69,553 tonnes, up 5.2 percent, with Asian volumes rising by 22.4 percent to a total of 34,743 tonnes.
