Oct 9, 2006 (newstodate): Emirates has signed a contract for delivery of 10 Boeing 747-8F aircraft, and announced purchase rights for a
further 10 747-8F.
The new aircraft with first delivery from 2010 will support the carrier's growing network of 28 freighter destinations which include freighter services in Bangalore, Lilongwe, Gothenburg, Amsterdam, and Taipei.
The carrier currently operates nine wide-body Boeing 747F and Airbus A310F aircraft, and
also has on order eight 777F while recently converting an order for two Airbus A380F into passengers version.
