Oct 25, 2006 (newstodate): DSV Air & Sea in Latvia is seeing strong growth in 2006.
-Compared to last year, our cumulative turnover in 2006 has increased 2.2 times, says Haralds Treimanis, DSV Air & Sea Latvia department manager.
-We have now moved to new premises in Riga Airport area, and two new staff were added in our office as of October.
-Airfreight export is more down than up, but import is up, seafreight is growing in all directions, and there is a strong increase in roadfreight import and export as well.
-The competition is very tough, however, both in air and sea cargo, but we enjoy the benefits from the global DSV network with own offices in USA and Asia, which are extremely important to our development.
-A main target is to attract more of the transit business via Latvia to Russia and CIS. We are already in this business now, but there is definitely much more potential to be tapped, says Mr Treimanis.
