Oct 19, 2006 (newstodate): The newly-elected Slovak government has finally curtailed plans for privatisation of Bratislava Airport.
After the recent tender, initiated by the former government, the consortium TwoOne emerged succesfully as the winner, but the government has now annulled the imminent deal, referring to alleged lack of conformation to certain clauses.
Underneath the decision lies the fact that with the close proximity to Vienna Airport, member of the TwoOne consortium, Bratislava Airport might have been relegated to an inferior position in the competition for air traffic.
