Oct 16, 2006 (newstodate): Air Slovakia has now confirmed the take-over of the company by a new UK-based owner.
-The acquisition has been in place since October 6, and with this we have secured the basis for continued development, says Tibor Vargo, Air Slovakia CEO and former co-owner of the airline.
-In the short term we are in the market for up to three Boeing 757 passenger aircraft, to be added to our existing fleet of two aircraft of this type.
-We would like to take in Boeing 737 aircraft as well, but they are unfortunately too expensive, he says.
-The new aircraft will be introduced on existing high-density routes, but may be used for opening up new routes as well, including flights to Goa, India.
-We are a privately-owned company with no partnerships, but with our new owner's Indian background we could expect the future to bring in new cooperation with operators in that region, says Mr Varga.
