Jan 24, 2006 (newstodate): As Turkish Airlines THY takes in new aircraft, the carrier plans to open flights to no less than 23 new destinations.
These include routes from Istanbul to Abu Dhabi, Doha, Tabriz, Rostov, Dublin, Osaka, St. Petersburg, Belgrade, Minsk, Ljubljana, Mumbai, Riga, Dnepropetrovsk, Venice, Khartoum, Muscat, Helsinki, Sanaa, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Addis Ababa, Donetsk and Lagos.
The airline plans to take in a total of 59 new aircraft during the period 2005-08, including six in 2005, 22 in 2006, 12 in 2007, and 19 in 2008.
Bringing the total fleet to over 100 units, the new aircraft will comprise 23 Boeing 737-800, 19 A320-200, 12 A321-200, and five A330-200 aircraft.
