Jan 12, 2006 (newstodate): General cargo will assume renewed priority with Lufthansa Cargo in the Nordic markets.
-We have seen a strong development in sales of our td.-products over the last five years, but we now see signs that the market is close to saturation, says Ulrich Link, Lufthansa Cargo manager Nordic and Baltic.
-In the market for pharmaceuticals, as one example, it is difficult to further increase the volumes considerably. We have reached a high level, and have a full range of quality products, but there is also a strong competition in the market.
-We will therefore now focus strongly on general cargo. Competition is fierce in this market, too, and rates are low, but there is definitely a significant volume to go for, says Mr Link.
