Jan 23, 2006 (newstodate): Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport has now published its results from 2005.
Air cargo volumes reached 119,462 tonnes of cargo and mail.
If these figures hold true, this is a decline by 37 percent from 189,693 tonnes in 2004 that saw an increase by 6.2 percent.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport has also seen its cargo volumes down to some 116,000 tonnes in 2004, citing stiff competition from rail transportation in the strong China-Russia trade as the main cause behind the drop in volumes.
