Jan 24, 2006 (newstodate): The Vnukovo-basd Russian airline, Atlant-Soyuz has completed a series of relief flights to Afghanistan.
After landing contracts with UK and chinese relief organisations in competition with 23 other airlines, the carrier, using IL-76 aircraft, has lifted more than 1,000 tonnes of relief shipments into the disaster area since the start of operations on November 7, 2005.
Atlant-Soyuz is owned by the Moscow City Government.
