Jan 4, 2006 (newstodate): Fledgling airline Central Airlines, currently being established in Bratislava, will introduce the Boeing 737-800 in the Slovakian market.
-Most aircraft operating in this market are small turboprop aircraft, and with the large Boeing 737 we will benefit from the lucrative location of Bratislava Airport near Central European metropolises as Vienna, Budapest and Prague, which are attractive destinations for both tourist and business passengers, says Michal Toma, Central Airlines spokesman.
-The first flights will be operated in the summer season 2006 as charter flights for a travel agency to Burgas, Bulgaria, he says.
According to Mr Toma, air cargo constitutes an integral part of the business idea of the carrier that is now in the process of firming up a strategy for serving Central Europe and other markets.
For cargo operations, the new carrier is in the market for the lease of one B707F, DC-8F or IL-76 aircraft for the period September, 2006, to June, 2007
