Jan 11, 2006 (newstodate): Starting from February 1, 2006, Atlas Airways, based in Bosnia-Herzegovina, will start freighter operations on routes from Frankfurt to Sarajevo, and from there to Balkan destinations.
-The flights between Frankfurt and Sarajevo are operated with Shorts and Beech freighters from German airline Night Express, while the routes from Sarajevo to Balkan destinations are operated with Shorts aircraft, says Ned Kujundzic, Atlas Airways general director.
-One route will operate from Sarajevo to Pristina in Kosovo, and from there to Tirana, Albania. Another route will operate from Sarajevo to Belgrade, Serbia, and from there to Skopje, Macedonia, and back, he says.
The new flights will be operated five times weekly for FedEx.
Atlas Airways formerly operated similar, but less frequent flights with aircraft from Aero Flight, but had to suspend services temporarily when that airline went bankrupt.
