Jan 17, 2006 (newstodate): A new provider of cargo uplift between China and Europe is emerging as Taiwan's China Airlines boosts business of its new acquisition in Yangtze River Express Airlines.
China Airlines recently bought a 25 percent stake to become the largest foreign shareholder of the Mainland Chinese company.
China Airlines says the investment will help to provide its clients with cargo space in Shanghai, and the carrier will indirectly lease its Boeing 747 freighter fleet to Yangtze River Express Airlines.
China Airlines will also lease freighter aircraft to Yangtze River for exploring new US and European flight routes, thus boosting the utilization rate of its fleet.
