Jan 11, 2006 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo is satisfied with its position in the demanding Finnish air cargo market 2005.
-It is no secret that the Finnish export market relies heavily on Nokia and depends on decisions within Nokia as to production and logistics, says Ulrich Link, Lufthansa Cargo manager Nordic & Baltic regions.
-We remain the 2nd largest provider in the Finnish market where Finnair succesfully puts top priority on its Far Eastern services. In the Transatlantic market, however, we outperform Finnair and see a strong business case for Lufthansa Cargo.
-There is heavy competition in the Finnish market, and as Finnair is still not subscribing to CASS in Finland some 35 percent of the IATA cargo revenue is not accounted for by CASS. This makes an objective appraisal of the size end trends of the market difficult, says Mr Link.
