Jan 31, 2006 (newstodate): Former Air Astana CEO, Lloyd Paxton, has received the highest honours from Kazakhstan in recognition of his accomplishment in building the airline.
Shortly before Christmas, Mr Paxton was awarded the Kazakhstan Honour, Order of the Kermut, as well as a second medal from the Kazakhstan Civil Aviation Committee previously bestowed at only 23 occasions.
-In each case I am the first foreigner to have ever been awarded either of these medals. I was very grateful for the recognition of the work that I and my staff have accomplished in developing Air Astana into a very successful airline operating to international western standards, says Mr Paxton.
