Jan 12, 2006 (newstodate): Pressure on the aircraft manufacturing market from China and India makes life difficult for other customers.
Due to difficulties with finding five suitable longhaul aircraft, Vietnam Airlines has alledgedly postponed launch of its planned route to USA, sources say.
Vietnam Airlines needs five widebody aircraft, but has so far managed to find only one after Airbus and Boeing said they were preoccupied with giant orders from China and India.
The airline is also in the market to lease four Airbus A320s but still has obtained no confirmation from Airbus.
Despite having placed orders with both manufacturers for new aircraft, these will be delivered only in 2008-2010.
