Jan 10, 2006 (newstodate): India is increasingly becoming a battlefield for Boeing and Airbus.
Last weekend and airbus team headed for India to settle the delivery schedules for Indian, formerly Indian Airlines, for 2006.
This week, a Boeing team led by Alan Mullaly, Boeing president and CEO, is in Mumbai to sign with Air India one of the biggest aircraft orders in recent times - totalling 68 aircraft worth 8.1 bilion US dollars.
The new orders, combined with those booked last year, mostly for Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft, will see four to five new aircraft being brought into the country every month for the rest of 2006.
