Jan 6, 2006 (newstodate): With effect from January 1, 2006, Copenhagen Airport has lowered its charges for freighter flights.
-Over-all freighter charges have been reduced by three percent, and a cap has been enforced on the charge for freighters with a take-off weight exceeding 200 tonnes, says Lars Korup, Copenhagen Airport cargo manager.
-The cap means that no charges are due for aircraft exceeding the 200 tonnes-mark in take-off weight.
In 2006, the take-off charge is DKK 63.25 per 1,000 kg or part thereof, rising to DKK 63.90 on 1 January 2007, and DKK 64.55 on 1 January 2008.
The cap on charges for freighters exceeding the 200 tonnes in take-off weight applies throughout the period 2006-2008.
Carriers currently to benefit from the cap include Singapore Airlines Cargo and Korean Air Cargo.
