Jan 9, 2006 (newstodate): The new ATC controls systems comprising Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou are now fully operational.
In September 2001, Thales landed the order for providing and implementing the North East and South Area Control Centre, comprising delivery of integrated Eurocat air traffic management systems in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
The Beijing system was fully commissioned in December 2004, the Shanghai system in May 2005 and the Guangzhou system in November 2005.
The new systems control up to 60 per cent of current air traffic in China.
