Jan 3, 2006 (newstodate): As was the case through most of the year, cargo volumes continued to slide at Prague Ruzyne Airport in November 2005.
In total the airport generated 4,614 tonnes of cargo, down 2.3 percent against the preceding year.
The airport complains that this is significantly below business levels at competing airport like Vienna and Budapest.
Most cargo is transported into and out of Prague as belly cargo on regular passenger flights.
There are on average only four dedicated cargo flights a day, the vast majority of them by smaller turboprop aircraft.
The exceptions are DHL with seven weekly flights with a B757 aircraft, and China Airlines offering two weekly freighter flights using B747-400F aircraft
