Jan 2, 2006 (newstodate): The Icelandic Avion Group has signed a contract for the purchase of four Boeing 777 Freighter aircraft.
The order is a follow-up on the previous order, in September 2005, for four 777 freighters.
All eight Boeing 777 freighters will be operated by the group's ACMI carrier Air Atlanta Icelandic.
The first B777 Freighter to Air Atlanta Icelandic is slated for delivery beginning in February 2009 with the remainder scheduled to be delivered in 2010 and 2011.
Avion has also signed a contract with Boeing to convert three Air Atlanta Icelandic 747-400 passenger aircraft into 747-400 Boeing Converted Freighters.
