Jan 5, 2006 (newstodate): Austrian Airlines Cargo is quite happy with CPS and sees no immediate need for migrating to other portals like GF-X for electronic communication with forwarders.
-In Europe, CPS makes rather little progress. This is obviously a matter of fact as long as the big European carriers stick solely to GF-X. On the other side CPS is the big player in the U.S. with North West, United Airlines, Air Canada, American Airlines and Continental Airlines onboard. Some of these carriers have electronic booking rates GF-X can only dream of, says Thomas Bernardy, AUA Cargo head of cargo processes & systems.
-We as an airline offer our customers different ways for communication. One of this is the web portal approach, and our web portal is CPS for the time being. We do not see any benefit to connect to another portal as long as the habit of the forwarders remains unchanged, meaning as long as the majority of them prefer to use the traditional ways of communication, he says.
