SEP 05, 2005 (newstodate): From September 5, China Airlines will be the first to fly through Chinese airspace on its freighter route from Taipei via Abu Dhabi to Vienna.
That first flight will be followed by many more CAL flights using the new time-saving flight corridors over mainland China, including the first passenger flight CI683 from Taipei to Hanoi on the same day.
An additional three cargo flights will fly over mainland China on September 5, including CI 242, Frankfurt-Abu Dhabi-Taipei, CI 364, Luxembourg-Delhi-Taipei, and CI 256, Manchester- Milan-Abu Dhabi-Taipei.
China Airlines expects to operate 52 passenger and cargo flights over mainland China air space each week, including passenger flights from Taipei to Chiang Mai, Hanoi, Delhi and Vienna and cargo flights from Taipei via Abu Dhabi or Delhi to Europe and from Luxembourg back to Taipei.
