SEP 29, 2005 (newstodate): Russian carrier VIM-Avia has contracted SITA to provide its integrated flight control and planning system.
The agreement contains provisions for the introduction and utilization of the flight planning system of SITA Flight Briefing including the weather and airport information and NOTAM reports, as well as the flight planning and operational control of SITA Fleetwatch.
The contract also contains provisions for VIM-AVIA introduce the CrewWatch system, the new control system of SITA crews, as well as the FleetPlan Max module assigned for the strategic analysis of the schedule plan.
VIM-AVIA earlier signed a contract with Lufthansa Systems to implement its dispatch and flight planning services.
The carrier is managed by Saad Kider, formerly CEO of the German LTU, and is leading partner of an alliance also comprising Russian Sky, Tesis and Chernomor Avia as well as Kyrgyz Air reportedly being taken over by VIM-Avia.
