SEP 23, 2005 (newstodate): Oslo Gardermoen Airport reports strong cargo growth in 2005.
During January-August, the airport generated a total of 52,862 tonnes of cargo and mail, up 11 percent on last year.
In August, the airport noted a total of 6,315 tonnes of cargo and mail, up seven percent.
International cargo and mail constituted 71.1 percent of the total volume in January-August, almost equally split between imports and exports that, however, grew by 18 and 11 percent, respectively.
The trend is that imports will further overtake exports during the latter part of this year.
