SEP 08, 2005 (newstodate): Samara Airlines is reportedly planning to take in three Boeing 737-500 aircraft on a lease agreement.
The carrier currently operates an ageing fleet of 29 aircraft including eight TU-134A, three TU-154 B, eight TU-154 M, Yakovlev 42D, Yakovlev 40 and Ilyshin 76 TD aircraft, so the Boeings will be a significant upgrading of the airline's capacity.
Samara Airlines is member of the Russian AIRUnion, together with Omskavia, KrasAir, Sibaviatrans, Domodedovo Airlines, and Sakhalinskiye AviaTrassy.
