SEP 08, 2005 (newstodate): The new owners of Lithuanian Airlines have lofty investment plans for the airline's aircraft maintenance business.
The company has one hangar for two or three aircraft depending on aircraft type, and the maintenance division is certified according EU PART-145 requirements.
Plans are to build one more hangar accomodating maintenance work on three or four aircraft, expected to become operation from June, 2006.
Driving this decision is a growing demand by customers in the market for aircraft maintenance by Lithuanian Airlines that has already completed 3rd party work on 10 aircraft this year, and has so far been contracted for five extensive C-cheks during Q1, 2006.
