SEP 02, 2005 (newstodate): From May, 2006, the Icelandic low cost carrier Iceland Express plans to increase its European network with new destinations in Scandinavia and Germany.
New on the route map will be flights to Bergen, Norway, Stockholm and Gothenburg, Sweden, and Hamburg, Berlin, and Friedrichshafen, Germany. The airline already operates between Iceland and Copenhagen, Denmark, Frankfurt Hahn, Germany, and London.
This expansion requires the airline to add a further three Boeing 737 aircraft to its fleet.
The owner of the carrier is Icelandic investors Fons eignarhaldsf�lag hf that recently acquired the Nordic airlines Sterling and Maersk Air.
