SEP 15, 2005 (newstodate): The start of Singapore Airlines Cargo's new Singapore-Delhi-Copenhagen-Chicago freighter route is further delayed due to the strikes at Boeing Aircraft Company.
Originally slated for launch by September 22, it was first posponed till October 2, but the date has now been tentatively delayed for yet another week.
The start of the new route hinges on delivery of the carrier's 15th Boeing 747-400 Mega Ark - and the completion of this aircraft is among the victims of the ongoing strike.
The delay also affects SAS Cargo that has signed a blocked-space agreement with SQ Cargo for traffic between Copenhagen and Chicago.
