The volume of flights was a 4.5 percent increase over July last year, but also the highest July-volume ever recorded by eurocontrol.
It did come at a penalty, though: the average en-route delay increased from 1.6 to 1.7 minutes, and average airport delay grew by 13.7 percent to 0.86 minutes.
14.25 percent of the flights were delayed in July, against 12.89 percent in July last year.
