SEP 27, 2005 (newstodate): While no official confirmation has yet been provided by any of the parties involved, independent sources unanimously claim that Korean Air Cargo has decided to move its cargo handling at Copenhagen Airport from SAS Cargo to DHL Aviation.
The carrier now operates five weekly Boeing 747-400 freighter flights at the airport.
If the said transaction materialises, this would further dismantle SAS Cargo's current monopoly in cargo handling since the demise of Novia Cargo on January 1, 2003, when SAS Cargo bought the company and its facility neighbouring DHL Aviation.
Already in February, 2005, World Flight Services announced its decision to open a new cargo station at Copenhagen Airport in 2006, and the construction work on the new facility started before this summer.
