SEP 08, 2005 (newstodate): Copenhagen Airports confirms that it has filed an initial bid for 66 percent of the stakes in the airports of Bratislava and Kosice.
According to the Slovak government, a total of eight participants are now registered in the current tender process after the September 5 deadline for delivering initial bids.
Austrian Airlines earlier announced that they had withdrawn from the tender due to financial strains in 2005.
Among the currently eight participants is the "Airport TwoOne" consortium, which includes Flughafen Wien Aktiengesellschaft, Raiffeisen Zentralbank �sterreich AG, and the Slovakian company Penta Investment Limited.
The participants must now meet the next deadline November 15 for delivering binding bids for the airport stakes, and the privatisation process is due to be completed before the end of the year.
