SEP 05, 2005 (newstodate): After being grounded since August 22, the Russian IL-96-300 fleet may soon be airborne again.
The fleet was banned from flight due to problems with the brakes and some alleged lack of technical documentation.
According to sources, the first to be released after modification will be IL-96 aircraft from Cubana and Rossiya, while Aeroflot, the single largest operator, will follow around the middle of this month.
