AUG 25, 2005 (newstodate): Volga-Dnepr Airlines has anounced its decision to acquire five new AN-124-100M-150 freighters.
The company has signed a delivery agreement with the Aviastar SP aviation plant as part of the AN-124-100 Production Recovery Project, and deliveries will commence from 2008.
The AN-124-100�-150 is an improved version of the AN-124 outsize and heavyweight cargo aircraft offering a capacity of up to 150 tonnes.
The modification program includes modernised on-board equipment, and a reduction of crew members from currently six to four.
Volga-Dnepr already operates a fleet of 10 AN-124 Ruslan aircraft.
