AUG 10, 2005 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines has turned options for eight Boeing 737-800 aircraft into firm orders.
The options were part of the airline's contract with Boeing in 2004, and the aircraft will be delivered in 2008.
-Moving forward on our growth strategy, we are looking to open new markets in Europe and Central Asia. The Next-Generation 737s' operational flexibility will play an integral part of that strategy, says Temel Kotil, Turkish Airlines President and CEO.
Turkish Airlines operates a mix of 43 Boeing Classics and Next-Generation 737 aircraft.
