AUG 18, 2005 (newstodate): From March 2006, Tirana will become a new destination on the route map of British Airways.
The carrier will fly the route between Tirana and London Gatwick thrice weekly, using Boeing 737-400 aircraft.
Tirana is already served by a range of airlines including Austrian Airlines, Malev, Olympic Airlines, JAT, Alitalia, Adria Airways, Turkish Airlines and Hemus Air.
Operating Tirana Airport since this summer is Hochtief AirPort that won the tender for airport management for 20 years.
The airport is being upgraded, including the construction of a new cargo complex.
