AUG 15, 2005 (newstodate): Siemens has been contracted to deliver and implement a new airfield lighting system at Warsaw Okecie Airport.
Under the contract, Siemens will deliver a comprehensive airfield lighting system for the taxiways and parking areas at the airport's new Terminal 2.
Three out of a total of four phases of the project will be completed before the end of this year.
The 1.6 million euro project covers the modernisation of three existing aircraft parking areas and the construction of a new one near the new Terminal 2.
Siemens will deliver and install 1,300 lights for taxiways and parking areas and 51 taxiway guidance signs, to be integrated in the existing lighting control and monitoring system.
