AUG 18, 2005 (newstodate): Icelandic-owned, Copenhagen-based low cost operator Sterling has contracted pilot traning school Center Air to provide ab-initio training of new pilots.
The carrier sees a dwindling supply of aircraft pilots in Scandinavia over the last three years, and foresees an acute shortage of new pilots to support its expansion over the next two or three years.
So far into 2005, Sterling has hired a total of 18 new pilots and more will be needed, the company says
