AUG 17, 2005 (newstodate): Russian cargo airline Silk Way Airlines has decided to re-engine its fleet of IL-76 aircraft.
The carrier has signed a contract for delivery of eight PERM PS-90A-76 engines in addition to an earlier order for four engines of this type that will allow the airline to operate freely in EU and US markets.
Silk Way Airlines started operations in October, 2001, operating charter and regular flights around the world with a fleet of IL-76TD and AN-12BK aircraft.
