AUG 16, 2005 (newstodate): Norwegian CAA, Avinor, is preparing for a modernisation of Alta Airport, in Northern Norway.
-We are preparing for construction of a new passenger terminal, new taxiways and new aircraft parking stands, says Charles Kristiansen, Alta Airport manager.
-A decision will be made by 2006-07, and I would expect the work to be completed by 2009-10, he says.
The Avinor is currently preparing the masterplan, and a public tender has been opened.
Alta Airport has a 1,873 m runway, and the project also comprises entended runway security zones.
