AUG 17, 2005 (newstodate): Romania's export air cargo volumes will grow by 4.4 percent annnually till 2010, according to a recent study by Lufthansa Cargo.
In 2004, Romania generated a total of 14,725 tonnes of export airfreight, estimated to grow to 19,115 tonnes by 2010.
In 2004, airfreight for Europe constituted 46.9 percent, or 6,903 tonnes, of the total volume, followed in volume by North Atlantic, 24 percent or 3,519 tonnes, and Asia/Pacific with 14.3 percent or 2,104 tonnes.
The biggest annual growth rates in Romania's export airfreight during the period will be in Asia/Pacific with 8.3 percent, Africa with 6.4 percent, and the Near East with 5.2 percent.
The growth in airfreight to Europe will be a modest 3.3 percent, and to the North Atlantic 3.5 percent, the study says.
