AUG 18, 2005 (newstodate): Icelandair Cargo has received its second of two Boeing 757-200F, now operated on the carrier's European and North Atlantic network.
Like the first freighter, delivered on June 28, the aircraft is operated under a lease contract with AWAS after conversion by Precision in Seattle.
Icelandair Cargo's fleet now comprises three B757 freighters, one production freighter and two converted. A fourth B 757-200 will be converted this winter by SIE/Alcoa at Cascade Aerospace, with expected delivery in April 2006.
The first Boeing 757 freighter is partly wet-leased to TNT, flying in the express carrier's livery, and is used on routes to Spain and Scandinavia. On weekends it is used in Icelandair Cargo's schedule between Liege, Reykjavik and New York.
The B757-200 PCF can carry up to 32 tons on 15 pallet positions, and both aircraft are fitted with Telair sliding carpet in the lower hold.
