AUG 02, 2005 (newstodate): Finnair Technical Services has signed a landing gear maintenance contract with Air New Zealand.
The contract, worth more than one million euro, comprises overhaul of seven ATR72-500 landing gears.
The aircraft are operated by Air New Zealand subsidiary Mount Cook Airlines, a regional carrier.
Other landing gear maintenance customers include Air Tahiti, Air Caledonie, Xinjiang Airlines, Transasia Airways, Thai Airways, Coast Air, Cimber Air, and Binter Canarias.
3rd party work now contributes more than half of the turnover at Finnair Technical Services' landing gear department.
Of Finnair Technical Services' 200+ million euro turnover, approximately one third derives from 3rd party maintenance contracts with customers including also Aeroflot, Martinair, and Lufthansa.
