AUG 11, 2005 (newstodate): Effective from June 2006, Finnair will begin direct scheduled passenger flights between Helsinki and Nagoya.
Nagoya will become Finnair's third destination in Japan, and its ninth in Asia.
To facilitate the new Far Eastern route expansion, Finnair plans to take in its seventh Boeing MD-11 aircraft during this coming winter.
Next summer, Finnair will thus operate to Japan a total of ten times a week, five times to Osaka, twice to Tokyo, and three times to Nagoya, becoming the only North European airline to offer direct flights to all of Japan's three largest cities.
