AUG 12, 2005 (newstodate): Finland Post has acquired Danish-owned logistics operator Combifragt A/S.
With subsidiriaries in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, Combifragt will become a new major operator in the Northern European logistics market, with the aim of developing solid national transport services, versatile international transportation services and comprehensive logistics solutions in cooperation with its new owner.
The business will continue as usual in close co-operation with the current owners and the acquisition will not affect its staff or operations.
The acquisition is part of Finland Post's strategy of reinforcing its operations in Scandinavia, Baltic Countries and Russia.
The finalisation of the transaction is subject to approval by competition authorities in Estonia, Latvia and Germany.
Earlier this year Finland Post acquired AW-Store Oy and John Nurminen Oy's Fashion Logistics business, and in September a new warehouse terminal in Kotka, Finland, will be opened, focusing on transit traffic to Russia.
