AUG 02, 2005 (newstodate): On July 29, the EU Commission approved four "horisontal" aviation agreements with Serbia-Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The "horisontal" agreements aim at bringing bilateral air services agreements between EU member states and 3rd countries in line with EU law without eliminating the existing bilaterals.
The new agreements thus allow airlines from EU countries and 3rd countries to operate freely between them, eliminating the restriction to operate into 3rd countries from own countries only.
The national designation clauses have thus been terminated.
