AUG 03, 2005 (newstodate): Swedish provider of active temperature-controlled air cargo containers, Envirotainer has named Nankai Express as its Japanese GSA and established container fleet inventory points in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.
This is the fifth GSA to be selected by Envirotainer in the last eight months and follows Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa/Namibia, and Mexico.
Envirotainer has been active in the Japanese market for 10 years but previously mostly sold containers to airlines and freight forwarders in Japan, primarily to maintain the safety and quality of food shipments in both the domestic and international markets.
The decision to launch container leasing services in Japan, already provided across the rest of Envirotainer's worldwide network, reflects increased demand from Japanese importers and exporters of temperature- sensitive healthcare and pharmaceutical products.
