AUG 30, 2005 (newstodate): During this year's H1, Armenian privately-owned carrier Armavia saw its share of the national aviation industry rising from 28 to 50 percent.
The carrier transported 172,000 of out of a total of 352,600 passenger through the Armenian capital airport, Zvartnots.
The carrier has completed the relocation of its technical administration from Russia to Armenia, and now plans to consolidate and expand its US sales network to serve the Armenian diaspora there.
The airline currently operates four A320 aircraft, with one to be returned to its owner in September and replaced by another leased A320 from next summer's programme.
In June, Siberia Airlines sold its stake in the airline that is now again fully owned and controlled by Mika Armenia Trading.
Armavia carried a total of 600 tonnes of air cargo during the first five months of this year, up 12.2 percent on last year.
